Miniature Cherry Tomato — A Tiny Harvest from the Vine to the Cutting Board
A hand-sculpted miniature cherry tomato set at 1:12 dollhouse scale, with whole tomatoes crowned by green star-shaped calyxes and halved tomatoes cut to reveal the translucent red pulp, the gelatinous interior chambers, and dozens of pale yellow seeds suspended in the juice — sculpted and placed one seed at a time. Each piece is small enough to fit on a fingertip. A handful of cross-sections in your palm looks startlingly like a real cutting board scene that's been shrunk by twelve.
This is the Tiny Harvest series' first crossover into produce that lives between fruit and vegetable — botanically a fruit, kitchen-wise a vegetable, culturally the most photographed ingredient in Italian and Mediterranean cooking.
This piece is part of the Tiny Harvest series by fdmini.
What's in this set
- 2 × Whole Cherry Tomato — round red body with a hand-sculpted green star-shaped calyx and stem. About 8–10 mm tall. Best for fruit bowls, vine displays, kitchen counters, and farmers' market dioramas.
- 4 × Halved Cherry Tomato — single tomatoes cut to show the translucent red pulp, gelatinous seed chambers, and pale yellow seeds. The showpiece — each half is its own miniature still-life.
- Set (Whole + Halves) — ships in a miniature clear fruit clamshell as shown.

Tiny Harvest is our ongoing series, organized into sub-lines:
- Real Fruit Textures — lychee, dragon fruit, kiwi, pomegranate, persimmon, peach, cherry tomato. Pieces where the surface or interior structure is the technical achievement.
- Stages of Being Eaten — Asian pear, apple, peach. Pieces that tell the story of a fruit between bites.
- Cluster and Vine — red grapes, green grapes. Hand-sculpted vines with hand-placed fruit.
- Cross-Section Showcase — lemon, dragon fruit, kiwi, lychee, pear, pomegranate, persimmon, peach, cherry tomato. Pieces built around what's inside.
- Produce (new) — cherry tomato, lemon, and upcoming basil, garlic, pepper, eggplant, and mozzarella. The savory crossover — produce that lives between fruit and vegetable, central to Mediterranean and home-kitchen cooking.
The series pays particular attention to fruit and produce that carry cultural memory — cherry tomato in Italian and Mediterranean cooking, persimmon in East Asian autumn, pomegranate in Greek, Jewish, Persian, and Chinese symbolism, lychee in Tang dynasty poetry. The series has been featured on Reddit's r/crafting and r/miniatures. Discover the rest of the collection at fdmini.com.
